wall lamp with plug

A wall lamp with plug is a great way to get a fresh look in your bedroom, bathroom or hallway without the need for an electrician or a lot of complicated DIY. These easy-to-install fixtures simply hang from your wall just like a picture frame and plug into an existing socket.Baurulamp

You can use them to light a mirror or as bedside sconces or to brighten up an empty picture wall. They also make a nice alternative to table lamps in tight spaces where a larger shade might intrude or you don’t want the extra weight of a pedestal base. They can even be used over a picture frame to highlight your favorite compositions.

These lights are simple to install and they can be removed and reinstalled in a different space if you ever decide to change your decor. That makes them a great option for renters, new homeowners or anyone who wants to experiment with different lighting options in their home. The only drawback is that you have to be OK with having a visible cord on the wall.

We spotted some stylish designs to consider in this category. For example, the Better Homes & Gardens Meadowood Wall Sconce has a clean, minimal look that will coordinate with most any home decor. It has a white fabric shade and a metal base in your choice of burnished brass, black or satin nickel. This fixture takes a standard 60W Max bulb and it is compatible with a dimmer switch (you’ll have to buy that separately). The manufacturer notes that this lamp can be installed on sloped or vaulted ceilings as well.

Another good option is the Onefortythree Wallace Light, which comes in an array of finishes and materials including polished nickel, natural brass or powder-coated black. It has a minimalist design that would work well in any room and can be installed vertically or horizontally on your wall. You can add a dimmer switch and international plugs as optional add-ons to this made-to-order lamp, which may take three to four weeks to ship (if it isn’t already in stock).

For a more dramatic style that’s still fairly simple to install, check out the Brooklyn 2-Light Flush Mount from AllModern. It has a cylinder body that emits light upward and downward or side to side, depending on how you choose to mount it. It’s suitable for damp locations and it works with a dimmable bulb (sold separately). The maker notes that this fixture can be installed on a sloped or vaulted ceiling as well.

If you’d rather go with a smarter option, there are also some plug-in wall sconces that let you control the light with your smartphone or other voice-activated devices. The Mi Home app lets you preset modes that adjust the light and color temperature based on what you’re doing, such as reading or working with a laptop. It also offers an auto-shutoff function that will shut the lights off after a set amount of time. You can also pair a light with the Google Assistant to control it with your voice.
